Update: 409,725 DepEd school teachers to receive PBB.

Performance-Based Bonus is part of the Performance-Based Incentives System, a breakthrough program launched by the Aquino administration in 2012 to reward exemplary public service.

Who will have the chance to receive Php5,000 to Php35,000 as their PBB?  Will all  DepEd employees, teachers, and personnel qualify for the incentive system by the Aquino administration?

The Department of Education (DepEd) releases the guidelines on the granting of Performance Based Bonus (PBB) for its personnel, based onExecutive Order No. 80, s. 2012, signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III. The guidelines took effect on February 28, 2013. (EO 80, directing the adoption of a performance-based incentive system for government employees.)

Those who have qualified from the Central Office (CO), Regional Offices (ROs), Division Offices (DOs) and attached agencies, shall be further evaluated based on the said guidelines and on their individual performance.

As for teaching and non-teaching personnel of the schools, there will be no individual ranking at the school level. Thus, the performance category of the school shall determine the level of PBB that each employee will receive.

Furthermore, DepEd employees who are recipients of awards such as the Literacy Awards and national awards from the Civil Service Commission and Metrobank Foundation in FY 2012, are guaranteed beneficiaries of the P 35,000.00 bonus—the highest incentive level of PBB.

In a recent issuance, however, by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the department still has to submit the requirements for the PBB release.  As of March 2013, only the Department of Health (DOH) has complied with the requirements.

Based on latest updates about the issue, DepEd will be providing PBB to 600,000 public school teachers, principal, and all its employees based on the following:

  • National Achievement Test (NAT) results of the school
  • Capacity to liquidate the maintenance and other operating expenses of the school (MOOE)
  • Drop-out rate

In addition to this, the DBM has also disproved the rumors indicating that government employees will only be receiving Php 10,000 in March 2013. DepEd will also be starting their assessment on schools this April 2013 and it is expected that the PBB will be issued before June 2013.

This PBB will also let schools, offices and other government agencies perform better and maximize their efforts in providing services to the people.

  1. all non teaching personnel in the entire Region VII did not receive their pbb.

Making all efforts to help the pupils and students achieve their optimum health state para walang absences and drop-outs. trying everything to do home visits kahit na napakalayo ang nararating and being a little doctor, guidance counsellor, advocate, program coordinator, linkager to other agencies. more than those tasks, even not on duty and anytime while resting at home meron biglang tumatawag for emergency medical services kahit sa community. For always, the school clinic ay nagsisilbing health center for all which we can’t resist giving due services and referrals cuz health workers nga kami kahit beyond our supposed work as an employee of the DepEd. Pero, oks pa rin sa amin, that is humanitarian service. Kaya lang po sana mas lalo kaming sisipagin if we are also given monetary rewards cuz meron din naman kaming needs, especially for our children’s needs, too. Having a health worker in the school makes a lot of difference now a days. Lahat ng health needs ng mga bata ay natututukan cuz the child is not only provided physically but emotionally and mentally since they are supposed to be treated as a whole human being. Nurses have learned to do that in the context of their nursing education…

    • Yup!!! Sa lahat ng trainings anjan kayo to facilitate the teachers, other agencies, etc. just to convey all what you have for all our safety in school, at home, in all our offices. Madami kaming natutunan. We are aware of your work deploying all means para makarating sa lahat ang mga advisories ng DOH. Sana lahat ng doctors, dentists, and nurses na naka employ na sa DepED ay manatili til their retirement. Paano na nga if may mga emergencies sa school, lalo na sa mga malalayong lugar…Meron nga akong kilalang School Nurse maalam sa medisina tuloy nakakatipid ang mga parents and members of the community. Masipag pa mag refer for further management if ever na d niya kaya…Maaatim ba nating mawala pa ang isang katulad niya sa isang agency?

  5. that performance base bonus is unfair, in our office those whoare online 8 hours chating got higher rating because they are paborito.

  7. well, dapat mamaterialize na yan PBBna snasabng yn
d soonest possible,,,,,its back to school again…..many tchers are waiting…….wag ng patagalin…..according to the news it will be release before June……..well ,12 hours from now election na then after that Brigada,,,,,,,,,,think its about time to release,,,,,,baka nmn makalimutan pa………..

Try to think about it.
