The 2013 DOST-SEI S&T Scholarships Official List of Qualifiers was already released by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) on Sunday, March 24, 2013.
The results displayed a total of 3,597 who qualified for the scholarship out of the 25,696 high school seniors who took the scholarship examination nationwide last November 2012. 2,791 are RA 7687 scholars and 486 are merit scholars. The rest are some potential qualifiers who are put on hold pending re-evaluation of some requirements.

RA 7687 or Science and Technology Scholarship Program and the Merit Scholarship Program are the two categories of the DOST Undergraduate Science and Technology Scholarship program. RA 7687 scholars are those who belong to a family whose socioeconomic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators as approved by the Advisory Committee on the S&T Scholarships. On the other hand, the Merit Scholars are those who are above the standards of RA 7687.
The new scholarship awardees must seek admission in any of the priority S&T fields of study at state colleges and universities and CHED-identified Centers of Excellence/Centers of Development. Each qualifier shall receive a notice of award from the DOST-SEI or DOST Regional Office stating the date of orientation and contract signing. He/she shall report at the designated venue with a parent/legal guardian who must bring a 2013 Community Tax Certificate or Official Passport. The legal guardian is required to present his/her affidavit of guardianship.
